Jesse was the best DJ we have ever had the pleasure of partying with. He wasn’t just a “press play on a playlist” kind of DJ. He took our vision, read the crowd, and made sure everyone was on the dance floor all night.

We chose Steve from MD DJ because we have attended two weddings previously that he had done and the dance floor stayed full the entire night. Our wedding was no different! Steve did an amazing job mixing it up to appeal to everyone in the crowd. The planning process was a breeze and all of the music was executed perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. Would highly recommend, as my experience with weddings has shown that the DJ will really make or break the party!

DJ Harvey was the best!! He met with us multiple times before our wedding to be clear of the timeline and what we wanted our music to be like. At the event he was a great MC and was able to match music to our group to keep everyone on the dance floor. Even as the rain hit he was positive, and was able to move his equipment, as well as adjust our timeline on the fly to keep the party going. Harvey is the best, we would definitely recommend him.

DJ Brian was amazing. About a month before the third planned wedding was to take place, we found ourselves without music for the day (#thankscovid). A friend of a friend has worked with Jordan, recommended him, and within 20 minutes, we had a scheduled phone call to work out details with our unique wedding day. Not only were Jordan and Brian professional and amiable, but they were incredibly flexible with the insanity (& forgetfulness!) of this exhausted bride. Finally, DJ Brian found an indescribable way to play a beautiful blend of Egyptian & country music... I never would have imagined that’s possible! --Tl;dr stop reading this review and go book them right now! --We used Maryland’s DJ for our wedding reception and they were the most complimented vendor of the night. --Of the DJs we interviewed Marylands DJ was by far the most professional and put together, and from the beginning we trusted their whole team. This was important because the original DJ we booked with had a conflict on our wedding day, and we weren’t concerned in the slightest when we were assigned a new DJ. --The DJ for our wedding was DJ Mike Q and he was absolutely spectacular. He emceed very well following our instructions in their planning portal. He also could improvise well, like when I asked him to give a shout out to one of our grandmothers because it was her birthday. He also picked up on a song referenced in the best man’s speech and played it later in the night. He also takes song requests! --DJ Mike Q was so good at keeping folks on the dance floor. I kid you not, it was packed all night and he mixed in a lot of songs we put on a list that gave him our dancing music vibes. I remember I was viben so hard that I forgot to drink anything between 8 and 9 pm. Maybe we’re biased, but compared to the previous few weddings we attended DJ Mike Q absolutely played the best music for dancing from beginning to end. --He also added some fun mixes into the song list that made us belly laugh a few times. --We got the photobooth and they did a great job with it. Got all the photos within a day or two of the wedding from that. That was easy to use and we were glad we got it because it gave folks a break from dancing. --They also provided lighting and were super experienced and helpful when we had no idea how to pick what would look good in our venue --The online planning tool and regular email reminders were great tools to help us plan our music independently on our own time. --We didn’t book them for the ceremony, but I’m sure they would have done well. --We got uplighting from them and it looked great in the barn. They knew exactly where to put it and we didn’t even have to think about it. We trusted them and they delivered.

Habtu was a dream! He took all of our requests and do not play songs seriously and always catered to us! He even took pictures during the ceremony, angles that I haven’t seen from anyone else! His mixing was great and he kept the party going the whole time! He made wonderful announcements and each song’s timing was perfect! When I had enough of the first dance and father dance, all I had to do was give him the look. SEAMLESS!

Maryland DJ provided the audio services for our wedding. In the lead-up to the event, we met with Taylor, and she was very professional and organized. She assigned Steve Hartka as our DJ, and the fit was perfect. After meeting with Steve before the wedding, we were confident he understood the vibe we were going for. On the wedding day, Steve showed up on time with all the necessary equipment. His organization was great, and he was set up and ready well before the event started. During the ceremony, the microphones worked perfectly with no hiccups, and the aisle music was exactly as planned. For the rehearsal, Steve was prepared and in control, coordinating with us, our wedding coordinator, and other vendors to make sure everything was timed perfectly. The dance floor was filled consistently, just as we had hoped, and Steve handled all of the music requests from guests while sticking to the play/do-not-play lists we had prepared beforehand. Overall, it was a tremendous experience, and we highly recommend Maryland DJ. Five stars through and through. I would also like to give Steve a particular shoutout for two things. First, during the cocktail hour, we decided we wanted to surprise the groomsmen and change their walk-in song to a favorite of the group. Steve obliged and was able to make the change at a moment’s notice, just minutes before the walk-ins started. Second, Steve helped us prank the best man right before he gave his speech. It worked out flawlessly.

Working with Steve was an absolute dream. When we started out planning, we knew that the music would be the most important factor of our wedding for us, and Steve exceeded our expectations with the most incredible DJ set for our wedding reception. He listened to what we wanted, worked with our requests and elevated the music to the point where people are still talking about the playlist and asking us to send it to them. I would recommend Steve to ANYONE but especially for those couples who are particular about their music! They were very flexible in this current environment as the time change for the wedding, and they were very accommodating. Steve did a PHENOMENAL job!!! Right from the start, he did such a good job figuring out what vibe we were looking for and even provided his number for any last minute updates we would need. His playlist during dinner (which we had little input on besides acoustic modern songs) was amazing and people were coming up to us asking for his playlist 😂. Then, he captured exactly what we wanted in terms of songs on the dance floor and kept the energy extremely high which was SO important to me. I literally danced to every single song. We would give him a 10/10!!

I used this DJ for Barristers' Ball, a law school "prom." More than 450 people attended, and all were adamant that the music be the best. This DJ did not disappoint. From helping me curate a playlist of artists and genres that appealed to everyone, to responding quickly to concerns and questions, I would highly recommend anyone who needs an excellent, attentive DJ for an important function to use this DJ.

Jordan did an incredible job for my daughter’s and son-in-law’s wedding on New Year’s Eve, 2021. He was not the original DJ booked from his company, but filled in on an emergency basis and was the most professional and fun DJ we have ever had the pleasure to work with. He also brought the photo booth and up lighting and everything was done in the most proficient way. He never stopped the music and took us all the way to a countdown at midnight and beyond. He worked so well with all of the other vendors which made the reception seamless. I would highly recommend Jordan and his company for any event.

Working with Maryland's DJ was great from Day 1. From the initial contact and discussions with Taylor and Steve about the vision for our night, we knew that we were in good hands. We had some issues with USPS and check delivery/cashing, but they quickly worked out a solution with us as soon as issues were discovered. Even with a diverse music taste and a wide age range, Steve kept the dance floor hopping from start to finish. He was even able to adjust on the fly to my wedding party's last-minute entrance changes. Our guests RAVED about the music and I can't recommend Steve and the team enough for any occasion. Jordan met us back in December of 2019 and stuck with us through it all! He is fun, responsive, reliable and so easy to work with. Our goal when selecting vendors was to make sure we felt 100% comfortable with them so that we could be ourselves - as soon as we met Jordan, we knew that would be the case. Definitely book through Maryland's DJ - you won't be disappointed!

The wedding was AMAZING! Brian did a phenomenal job picking songs off the must play list that kept people dancing. We got great feedback on the song choices and he clearly listened to us when we were discussing volume/ the Horah. Tyler and I were worried about music too loud; Brian did a wonderful job with that. On the dance floor, we could hear everything fine and by the tables we could talk at a good level! Moreover, for the Horah we asked for the moms/ dads to be lifted together and he did that, too. No complaints! During the ceremony and introductions he played all the correct songs, too! :D In conclusion, we were thrilled with the services and glad I asked my friend for her DJ company from her wedding in September of 2023. We will be recommending y'all!

A good wedding DJ does more than play music. They help manage the flow of the day, they provide atmosphere and ambience, and most importantly, they run the fun on the dance floor. If you want a DJ service that matches your needs, that MCs as well as they DJ, and are a great time at your party, gathering, wedding, etc., you want Maryland’s DJ and you want DJ Steve. Steve isn’t the only DJ they have, but he ended up as DJ for our wedding after we met and consulted with Maryland’s DJ. They make a wonderful effort to match a couple with the styles of one of their excellent DJs. Their online portal provides lots of avenues to control the songs couples would like (or not!) at their wedding, and communication is always open. On the wedding day, DJ Steve was smooth as can be. He worked with us to facilitate a few last-minute lineup changes to the wedding party, to manage to the minute various announcements and scheduling of dances, was a wonderful and energetic MC — and when the dancefloor opened, he was an absolute joy to have at the DJ table. His mixes are on point and he works with you to make sure you’re getting the songs and sounds you and your guests want. You can’t go wrong with these folks.

Working with Maryland's DJ was great! Steve was quick to respond when I initially reached out and DJ MikeQ was assigned to us for our wedding. We met virtually multiple times before the event to discuss our music style and preferences. They have a detailed online portal where we were able to add our song preferences for all of the classic wedding moments and then requests for must plays, do not plays, etc. During the event Mike was ON IT! He did great at the ceremony and cocktail hour and then nailed our bridal party intros (we had a different song for each pair). Also, he kept the dance floor going all night long and was great at mixing songs together! There were a few songs on our must-plays that we didn't hear which was a bit of a bummer, but overall it was wonderful working with Mike and I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ that wants to see the dance floor packed! Our experience with Maryland’s DJ was incredible from the beginning! We met with a rep virtually who led us through an extensive presentation of all they had to offer. He asked us about our vibe and matched us with one of their DJs accordingly. Then we met with our DJ Jamaal. They have an awesome portal where you add in all of your music requests, even when to fade out, etc. We had a meeting with Jamaal a month out and he was very flexible with all of our last minute changes. My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Maryland's DJ. We worked closely with DJ Steve throughout the entire process and we both have nothing but nice things to say about him and the company as a whole. Steve was responsive with emails and their portal is a great tool for filling out forms and music choices, contacting your DJ and keeping track of your payments. The best part about the experience was the wedding day. Steve and his assistant showed up on time and had everything set up within an hour. He took down all of our important song requests. These guys are true professionals. Everything was so on point with ceremony and cocktail hour music. And the reception was one for the books. Steve and his assistant had our dance floor packed throughout the entire reception. We had multiple people tell us after the fact that it was one of the best receptions they had ever been too. And a large part of that is owed to Steve and Maryland's DJ for making our special night a truly memorable one.

To me, finding a good DJ was one of the most important parts of my wedding. We wanted someone who was current but that could also cater to our parent’s friends. Brian was recommended to me by a few different people. Our Wedding was not the easiest because it was in a remote location without wifi/service. We ended up contracting him for extra time because we didn’t want the party to end. Everyone told me how much they loved our DJ and a bunch of my friends are using him for their weddings. Where do I begin?! Jordan is above and beyond what you can expect from your wedding DJ. Well before the wedding, we met with Jordan and discussed what we were looking for, what type of genres we wanted covered, and what we expected the overall feel of the wedding to be. Everything was cataloged and noted and he truly listened to every question, comment, and request we had. A few weeks before the wedding we met with Jordan again to finalize the timeline of the wedding, which specific songs we wanted played or not played, and any last minute details he should note. He took interest in every detail and really wanted this to genuinely be a perfect and free-flowing wedding day for us. Jordan was available from the moment I reached out to him originally up until the wedding date. He responded to any questions I had quickly and always made me feel comfortable that everything was under control. With his commanding presence, he MC'd the whole wedding day! He introduced us and our families at the reception, queued the "Hava Nagila" dance to a crowd of almost 160 people, and kept everything moving right along. There wasn't a pause to the dancing! Everyone from my 14 year old cousin to my 75 year old grandma was busting a move on the dance floor. His song selection and his transitions to other songs were fluid and appealed to everyone (which is what we wanted). I can't imagine anybody else DJ-ing our wedding. He is organized, communicable, transparent, and just plain fun! I wouldn't hesitate one more second and just make the best decision for the sake of your wedding day- choose Jordan as your DJ. Plain and simple!

Maryland DJ’s were amazing! When I called I spoke to Jordan and gave him a run down of what we were looking for, he said “I got the perfect DJ for you guys!”. Jordan set us up with DJ Neil Feldman. We spoke with Neil multiple times leaving up to the wedding over video call. We gave him our style of music we like and some of our favorite songs. Dj Neil told us from the start that he does not just play a premade playlist that is created by the couple, but that he will take our music and the vibe of the wedding and create music on the spot to keep people dancing and the vibes up. Leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, Dj Neil was very professional and attentive. Dj Neil lived up to his hype and some. We dance the entire time. Even a week after our wedding we still have people telling us how much fun they had and how good the Dj was.

For bride and grooms to be (or anyone throwing an event) - do yourself a favor and look no further, seriously! Jordan was amazing during this entire planning process, he always replied in a timely manner and made every little request I had seem like no biggie and made it happen! Using the online portal (which was extremely cool!!) gives you the opportunity to give him a general idea of the type of music you want and keeps things extremely organized...Now more importantly, he literally had the crowd on the dance floor the ENTIRE time. He is able to read the crowd and deliver. It’s only been two days since the wedding and I’ve gotten SO many messages about the DJ and how incredible the music was and how awesome his lighting work was. If you want the best of the best, you’ve found it!!

A good wedding DJ does more than play music. They help manage the flow of the day, they provide atmosphere and ambience, and most importantly, they run the fun on the dance floor. If you want a DJ service that matches your needs, that MCs as well as they DJ, and are a great time at your party, gathering, wedding, etc., you want Maryland’s DJ and you want DJ Steve. Steve isn’t the only DJ they have, but he ended up as DJ for our wedding after we met and consulted with Maryland’s DJ. They make a wonderful effort to match a couple with the styles of one of their excellent DJs. Their online portal provides lots of avenues to control the songs couples would like (or not!) at their wedding, and communication is always open. On the wedding day, DJ Steve was smooth as can be. He worked with us to facilitate a few last-minute lineup changes to the wedding party, to manage to the minute various announcements and scheduling of dances, was a wonderful and energetic MC — and when the dancefloor opened, he was an absolute joy to have at the DJ table. His mixes are on point and he works with you to make sure you’re getting the songs and sounds you and your guests want. You can’t go wrong with these folks.

Our DJ (Thiery Banks) was outstanding. Every communication we had leading up to the wedding was professional but also personal. He was flexible about which portions of the wedding we defined completely and which portions he would run autonomously based on our tastes (collected through our phone conversations and the songs we submitted as must-play or by request). He kept people engaged and having fun all night! If you can book Thiery, absolutely do so!! By contrast, our dealings with Jordan Solander (owner of Maryland’s DJ) were terrible. He did not show up for scheduled calls, forgot all about us, and was generally unpleasant to work with. But that’s nothing compared to the scammy way our contract was handled. In January, Jordan sent us a contract with a total cost of $3200. We signed the contract and were required to pay 50% upfront, so we immediately sent a check for $1600. The remainder was due 30 days before the wedding, so we again paid $1600 on that date. Several days later, Jordan emailed and said we hadn’t paid our full bill and that we owed $1200. We replied with our contract, showing an agreed price of $3200 and evidence of two payments totaling $3200. Jordan wrote back and claimed that he’d made a mistake in the contract and that it should have been $1200 higher in order to get the Photo Booth option we’d discussed and which was promised in our contract. We asked him to uphold his end of the signed contract, and he refused. In further discussions, he mentioned that he’d had this problem multiple times with other clients. If he’d contacted us immediately in January and said, “This payment is not 50% of the total,” we would have had time to consider whether we would accept a contract at $4400. Because Jordan waited until just a few weeks before our wedding, we had no choice but to keep our contract for the DJ but get a photo booth from another vendor. Since he admitted that he’s done this multiple times, Jordan is either negligent in addressing a known issue or scamming people for more money by springing additional charges on them when the wedding is imminent. The latter seems far more likely to me, given Jordan’s overall demeanor and lack of professionalism. I would absolutely hire Thiery Banks again as a DJ, but only if I could book him directly or through another company. I would never do business again with Jordan Solander.

Maryland’s DJ should be your top choice - no question about it! We cannot rave enough about how wonderful of an experience we had with Steve as our DJ and working with Jordan in preparation of the big day. They were professional, great on the mic and they got EVERYONE on the dance floor. We even had a seasoned vendor comment that they’ve never seen so many people stay all the way to the end of the reception! To begin - their portal system easily allows you to track what songs you want to hear at the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception; they meet with you in advance of your wedding to confirm plans and provide advice to make the day flow; they easily worked with any request we had; and they were so flexible when the wedding was running way behind schedule (not their fault) so Steve checked in with us on if we wanted to make any changes, then he kept the party moving! Everyone - even guests we never thought would leave their seats - was bringing their all on the dance floor and that’s thanks to Maryland’s DJ! Hire Maryland’s DJ and you’re guaranteed to have an amazing reception!

Maryland's DJ was a great pick for our event. Having the opportunity to do DJ and photobooth on one contract was so convenient, and the way they manage the contract and let you stay involved in all the music choices is just what we needed. You can be as in depth or relaxed as you want, the team will take the time to get to know you and your partner's needs so they can give you exactly what you want. We had an unusual situation with our original DJ (Jordan) having a baby just a few weeks before the wedding, but he passed us off to his cohort (Steve) who did a great job for being introduced to us last minute. The planning sheet process helped exponentially with that I think, because all the important music choices were already on paper for him. What we had on the day of was great music and a good time we'll remember for years to come, even if it was during a pandemic!
