My fiancé and I were both always said booking a good dj is one of the most important things when it comes to weddings. Steve was AMAZING. From the very beginning he was so kind and helpful. On the day of the wedding I had not one doubt that he would have the dance floor packed, and that just what he did!

I have nothing but good things to say about Maryland’s DJ and Jordan (great guy!). One of my favorite things about Maryland DJ, is their super fun photo booth which we’ve had at multiple special family celebrations. One of the photo booth settings “boomerang” makes for some legendary memories. (And somehow always makes everyone look good). In fact, one time we took a photo booth boomerang collage with my Grammy’s walker, doing fun dances, and it was quite hilarious. All in all, 1000% would recommend!

We cannot say enough great things about DJ Steve! From the moment we connected, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and easy to work with. He truly listened to our vision for the wedding and brought it to life with his amazing DJ skills. Steve perfectly set the tone for every part of the evening. During the cocktail hour, he played timeless classics by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, creating an elegant and classic vibe. As dinner began, he transitioned seamlessly into some lively swing music, which added so much energy to the room. When it was time to party, Steve went through the decades, playing all the hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s. We sang and danced our hearts out to all of our favorites. He read the crowd perfectly, and the dance floor was packed all night long! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how much fun they had and how sore they were from all the dancing, and we owe so much of that to Steve’s ability to keep the energy going all night. People only really took breaks to grab another drink. Thank you Steve for being such a pleasure to work with and for making our special day so incredible!

Brian Doane was our DJ for our November wedding at Chesapeake Bay Foundation. In my opinion this venue can be one of the more difficult ones to navigate for music because there are many location possibilities for the ceremony to take place. Brian was so easy going and awesome to work with from start to finish. We had some music requests but he did a great job feeling out the crowd and kept the party moving all night! I don’t think our dance floor was empty the whole reception! He is a great friend and awesome DJ. I would recommend him for any event!

Maryland’s DJ was phenomenal! Taylor was super helpful and responsive during the early stages of planning. DJ Scott was FANTASTIC. Another DJ was supposed to cover our event, but something came up and Jordan (owner) called to apologize and ensure that DJ Scott was the best candidate to entertain our guests. We had 125 guests and the dance floor was packed ALL night. I could not recommend DJ Scott more!

I had Maryland's DJ for my wedding last weekend and they totally rocked it. We got a lot of compliments that night for the music mixes and the energy. Brian was a lot of fun to work with, at one point some during the reception guest were slowing down a bit but he was able to get everyone excited and dancing again in no time. to say the least, 4 days after my wedding I was still getting non stop texts about how amazing my DJ was. Mike Q was the dj for my wedding, originally I made a playlist for him to play, after having multiple zoom calls to ensure everything went great - I loved the vibe that mike had and told him to play whatever he wanted to play. Every single person was on the dance floor. Yes even the old people. He was SOOO good. He really made the fun part of the wedding more fun than anticipated. I will be going out just to hear mike dj at the clubs!!

For bride and grooms to be - do yourself a favor and look no further, seriously! Jordan was amazing during this entire planning process, he always replied in a timely manner and made every little request I had seem like no biggie and made it happen! Using the portal (which was extremely cool!!) gives you the opportunity to give him a general idea of the type of music you want and keeps things extremely organized...Now more importantly, he had the crowd on the dance floor the ENTIRE time. He is able to read the crowd and deliver. It’s only been two days since the wedding and I’ve gotten so many messages about the DJ and how incredible the music was and how awesome his lighting work was. Maryland’s DJ should be your top choice - no question about it! We cannot rave enough about how wonderful of an experience we had with Steve as our DJ and working with Jordan in preparation of the big day. They were professional, great on the mic and they got EVERYONE on the dance floor. We even had a seasoned vendor comment that they’ve never seen so many people stay all the way to the end of the reception! To begin - their portal system easily allows you to track what songs you want to hear at the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception; they meet with you in advance of your wedding to confirm plans and provide advice to make the day flow; they easily worked with any request we had; and they were so flexible when the wedding was running way behind schedule (not their fault) so Steve checked in with us on if we wanted to make any changes, then he kept the party moving! Everyone - even guests we never thought would leave their seats - was bringing their all on the dance floor and that’s thanks to Maryland’s DJ! Jordan is awesome! He took a lot of time to get to know us and our music preferences. He helped us incorporate Polish traditions and music into our reception and really just got the vibe of our guests. He also dealt with my crazy drunk mother who got pretty demanding about music towards the end of the reception. 😂

Working with Steve was an absolute dream. When we started out planning, we knew that the music would be the most important factor of our wedding for us, and Steve exceeded our expectations with the most incredible DJ set for our wedding reception. He listened to what we wanted, worked with our requests and elevated the music to the point where people are still talking about the playlist and asking us to send it to them. I would recommend Steve to ANYONE but especially for those couples who are particular about their music! Jordan is beyond amazing and is truly one of the best DJs I think I've ever come across. I met him years ago when he was just starting out and remembered him being good. I kept his info because I thought maybe one day I would have a need for a DJ? Fast forward 5 years later, I got engaged and he was the first person who came to mind when we deciced to go with a DJ instead of a band. My now husband and I went to meet with him and to get a preview of what he could do and both of us were blown away. We signed our contract that same day. The entire year and a half we were engaged, I was constantly telling people how excited I was about our DJ and how I knew he would make our wedding one of the best parties our guests had ever been to. Our big day finally arrived and Jordan totally delivered. From ceremony into late-night, he knew exactly what we wanted and nailed it. At the reception we pretty much gave him the freedom to play what he thought would keep the party going and he kept it classy but oh so fun! Book him, you won't be disappointed.

Not only with his professionalism but with how he made all the guests feel along with myself! As a Dj, it’s so important to have a good personality who is outgoing and gets the crowd excited. Without a good Dj, receptions aren’t a good time and this was definitely a GREAT time! Brian was super easy to work with and we made sure to keep each other prepared as they day unfolded! We worked with Mike Q and had the most amazing experience. We told him our highest priority was to never have a lull in the dance floor and he absolutely delivered. Our guests were dancing all night long and everyone told us how amazing the DJ was. We had a crowd of all different ages and he did a great job of mixing in songs for everyone. We also talked about him playing songs fast and not staying on one song for too long, and he did this better than I could have imagined and he got through every song I wanted to hear and was able to take requests as well from our guests. Having Jordan as our wedding DJ was an absolute delight. The first time we ever spoke to Jordan, it was for close to an hour as he laid out his experience as a DJ, particularly with weddings, and answered all of our questions about why we should consider hiring him. Since that initial interview, Jordan was always available to us via phone, text, or email, often responding within the hour, and was happy to answer the most trivial of questions that we had. Jordan prepared thoroughly before the wedding, sending us a detailed questionnaire, schedule, and song list to complete, to make sure every detail was exactly how we wanted it. And we met via video chat a couple weeks before the wedding just to talk everything over and iron out any remaining details. At the wedding itself, Jordan was terrific. He arrived early. He coordinated with our other vendors and the staff at the venue to set up his equipment so that we weren't disturbed. He made introductions, provided announcements, and, of course, kept the dance floor grooving for the entire night. Not to mention, the photo booth that we reserved through Maryland's DJ was a massive hit with our guests! Everything unfolded seamlessly On top of all the things I mentioned above, Jordan is quite simply a genuine, friendly, and easygoing person. My wife and I liked talking to and interacting with him. He made our lives a little less hectic while planning a wedding in the midst of the ongoing pandemic: no small feat. Maryland's DJ has a strong recommendation from us, and a tremendous thank you, Jordan, for all your hard work!

Steve was absolutely amazing at our wedding a few months ago. He is literally a walking encyclopedia of music information, and he was able to mesh all of our interests (funk, 80-90s R&B, contemporary pop, etc.) into one seamless night that had the entire dance floor packed all night long. I really don’t even know where to start. We have not stopped receiving messages from friends and family about how much of a blast they had. Jordan was absolutely incredible, his demo meetings were some of the most helpful we had throughout this season whole process, his online portal was such a great tool to have while planning. One of the best decisions we made throughout this whole process, our wedding was a blast. One thing he will definitely make sure of is that your wedding truly feels like yours. The process was so individualized to you, and it will never feel like it’s anybody else’s day but yours. Do yourselves a favor and book Maryland’s DJ, you will not regret it!

--Tl;dr stop reading this review and go book them right now! --We used Maryland’s DJ for our wedding reception and they were the most complimented vendor of the night. --Of the DJs we interviewed Marylands DJ was by far the most professional and put together, and from the beginning we trusted their whole team. This was important because the original DJ we booked with had a conflict on our wedding day, and we weren’t concerned in the slightest when we were assigned a new DJ. --The DJ for our wedding was DJ Mike Q and he was absolutely spectacular. He emceed very well following our instructions in their planning portal. He also could improvise well, like when I asked him to give a shout out to one of our grandmothers because it was her birthday. He also picked up on a song referenced in the best man’s speech and played it later in the night. He also takes song requests! --DJ Mike Q was so good at keeping folks on the dance floor. I kid you not, it was packed all night and he mixed in a lot of songs we put on a list that gave him our dancing music vibes. I remember I was viben so hard that I forgot to drink anything between 8 and 9 pm. Maybe we’re biased, but compared to the previous few weddings we attended DJ Mike Q absolutely played the best music for dancing from beginning to end. --He also added some fun mixes into the song list that made us belly laugh a few times. --We got the photobooth and they did a great job with it. Got all the photos within a day or two of the wedding from that. That was easy to use and we were glad we got it because it gave folks a break from dancing. --They also provided lighting and were super experienced and helpful when we had no idea how to pick what would look good in our venue --The online planning tool and regular email reminders were great tools to help us plan our music independently on our own time. --We didn’t book them for the ceremony, but I’m sure they would have done well. --We got uplighting from them and it looked great in the barn. -----They knew exactly where to put it and we didn’t even have to think about it. We trusted them and they delivered.

Working with Maryland's DJ was great from Day 1. From the initial contact and discussions with Taylor and Steve about the vision for our night, we knew that we were in good hands. We had some issues with USPS and check delivery/cashing, but they quickly worked out a solution with us as soon as issues were discovered. Even with a diverse music taste and a wide age range, Steve kept the dance floor hopping from start to finish. He was even able to adjust on the fly to my wedding party's last-minute entrance changes. Our guests RAVED about the music and I can't recommend Steve and the team enough for any occasion. Maryland's DJ was the perfect DJ company for our wedding. DJ Harvey was so easy to communicate with, he worked with all of our vendors to ensure we had the best experience possible, and he kept the party going all night long! The energy from the dance floor was one of the most talked about parts of our wedding day and it wouldn't have been possible without DJ Harvey's skills as well as the great sound system and uplighting. We would recommend to anyone hoping to have a fun wedding reception!

Jordan was great for our Halloween wedding! We worked with him for a few hours in the weeks prior to the wedding to get the mood right and his suggestions were always on point! Maryland's DJ was fantastic from start to finish. They were extremely fast in responding to my request, beat everyone by at least 30 minutes! Their presentation of who they are and what they do well, and what separates them from other DJ's was clean and crisp. Steve was a fantastic DJ. We used him for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We got tons of compliments about the music he was playing and how he was able to keep everyone on the dance floor. I'd highly recommend using Maryland's DJ!!

He got to know our style and event vibe from a couple of pre-wedding meetings and we loved the portal where we could add wedding details (first song, etc.) and playlists to make sure we were all on the same page. The moment we met the folks at Maryland's DJ, we knew we had found the right place. They were friendly, attentive, and professional, matching us with the perfect DJ based on our preferences. As my spouse and I love early 2000s pop punk, we got matched with Steve Hartka. Friends, Steve is the MAN. His enthusiasm for his job is infectious, and he took such care to get to know us as a couple. He was able to balance our preferences with curating the perfect party that felt like ours. He did not miss a beat, no lull, not even one. He started with party favorites to get everyone dancing, moving to dance hits to keep everyone dancing, ending with well-chosen rock. The songs blended well and felt like the work of a true professional. Steve did such an amazing job that we had people complimenting us all night. By the end, nearly our entire wedding was praising Steve by name. Our evening was absolutely amazing, a large part due to Steve. Worth every penny!

This was my first experience with a DJ service and it was fantastic. Mebaa and his team engaged the crowd, had everything including lighting well prepared before our arrival. He was not pushy he offered suggestions which made things flow better that I could have thought. We used their photo booth which the crowd LOVED. Everything was beyond my expectations. Completely professional and stayed in touch planning the event so nothing was left out. They kept the crowd dancing and enjoying themselves. I could not be more pleased.

My husband and I cannot recommend Maryland's DJ enough. Based on our preferences, we were paired with DJ Steve. We have been impressed with him since day 1. Having never planned a wedding before, my husband and I did not know the process. However, Steve walked us through everything. He was organized, clear, easily accessible, and had the crowd dancing all night. The company has a lot of prep documents which helped ups plan for the flow of the night and really consider what we wanted for our evening -- this helped so much. Would rehire again and highly recommend to others!

Oh my gosh, our DJ, Harvey, was a 10 on everything!!! And the photo booth turned out better than I expected. It was amazing working with Harvey, he was basically our wedding coordinator! Everyone complimented his dj skills and my husband and I loved his transitions and making sure that we're still on schedule or if anything needed to be changed around due to time.

Steve our DJ and Jordan, at Marylands DJ were with us for the long-haul. Our date originally in 11/2020 was pushed to 11/2021 only to be cancelled by our original venue 60 days before the big day. I am a to do list, plan ahead type of bride and had major anxiety about the new venue and our complicated family dynamics going into our big day. Steve was cool and confident and helped calm my nerves with every change or concern that cropped up right up to presenting us to the reception. Their planner portal is awesome! But he real reason you should work with this team is that they truly are Team Bride and Groom! It was a special event with great energy! Thanks Steve and Jordan!

We were so happy we went with Jordan to be our DJ for our wedding reception this past August in Annapolis. *He plays great music and made the songs personalized to our reception. Definitely check out some of his videos. *He is so professional, very experienced, and friendly. *He was a calming and reassuring presence for us during the reception. Jordan is the best DJ out there! If you have a rough and rowdy crowd like we did or a crowd that needs to be persuaded a little to get up and dance, he will make it happen. He really knows how to read a crowd. I didn't want to get off the dance floor and I saw people who I know aren't big dancers on the dance floor. His transitions from song to song are really cool and he really helped the flow of our reception. We had so many guests tell us our DJ was amazing and to me that is one of the most important parts of a fun, successful wedding. From beginning to end Jordan was professional and easy to communicate with and you will not be disappointed!

Maryland’s DJ was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Taylor was very helpful when booking and planning. Neil and his day of crew were also great. We spoke to Neil a few times leading up to our wedding day and he really got a good picture of what we wanted to hear all through the day and he delivered. We had the most amazing wedding/ dance party that we have ever been to! So many of our guests told us they haven’t danced so long and enjoyed themselves as much as they did at our wedding! The Photo Booth also went so well and we loved getting all the mini videos and pictures from that a few days later. We can’t recommend Maryland’s DJ enough!!!!

WOW!! We had such an amazing time at our wedding! Jordan was the absolute best, we couldn’t stop talking about how we chose the perfect DJ. He made us feel comfortable and really put our wants and needs above everything which made our day even more special. Everyone... I mean everyone was out on the dance floor from teenagers to 90 year olds. The music choices were fun and he could really read the room and change it up to keep the flow going and keep everyone dancing. We wanted an intimate ceremony and a huge party of a reception and he delivered for sure. We highly recommend Maryland’s DJ and Jordan, for any wedding/ event.

We had originally planned to marry in Annapolis on May 1st but COVID19 restrictions for indoor venues and 10 person limits put the brakes on for everything. Four rounds of letters and three date changes later, we finally celebrated our wedding at the Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) on August 22nd. Flexibility and great service are how I would describe Maryland's DJ. Jordan worked with us the entire time as we navigated multiple date and venue changes. Our DJ, Steve Hartka, was awesome and worked with us in the final weeks before the wedding to make sure our Playlist was perfect and that every detail was covered for the big day. Our guests had an amazing time. The music was perfect and the photobooth was a huge hit. I would highly recommend Marylands DJ for any event!

Best Day Ever! What Jordan did for our wedding day is speechless! From day one he gave us the feeling that he was dedicated to making our day the best day we could ever imagine. It was crazy how after a simple 5 minute phone call he was able put together a demo session that had us geeked for our special day! Jordan and Steve of Maryland’s DJ were a blast to work with! When inquiring about different DJs for our wedding it was a pleasant surprise to learn that Maryland’s DJ offered a free live demo. That’s something I never heard of before. It was really helpful to meet the owner, Jordan and the DJ who would be playing our wedding, Steve. We clicked immediately. We were able to tell him our music styles and vision for the wedding and had the opportunity to hear some sample mixes based on the information provided. They were very responsive to any questions we had during our decision making process and were willing to work with our budget. Even when I made last minute song requests and changes the night before the wedding, Steve was very accommodating and made the changes with no problem. We highly recommend them for any event. Maryland's DJ absolutely nailed our wedding, no other way to describe it. DJ Mebaa stepped in to DJ our ceremony and reception as a last minute change in plans; my wife and I felt supported and in good hands the whole time as a result of Maryland's DJ's planning and attention to detail. Mebaa, with only a few days notice, played all ceremony songs perfectly, timing choruses/special parts of songs perfectly with the arrival of the wedding party/the bride as they walked down the aisle. The reception was an all out blast - Mebaa read the room perfectly, following one banger with another and keeping jaws dropped the whole night with great songs. He also surprised my wife and I with a special last song dance to a song that we adored. I would highly recommend Maryland's DJ, and Mebaa specifically. They made our special day the best it possibly could be, and know how to please their clients, no matter what circumstances arise. Aside from my wife and I, we had almost everyone we interacted with on the dance floor comment on how good the DJ music and service was - we are so glad we went with DJ over live band!

For us, the most important thing at our wedding was that our guests had an amazing time. We knew that music would be a key piece of this, drawing out or enhancing a different mood for every phase of the celebration. We needed our ceremony to feel serious but not too serious; our cocktail hour and dinner to feel laid back but classy; and our reception to feel like a college dance party for every generation of former college students. That's a hard balance to strike, but Jordan was able to hit every note flawlessly. He was one of those rare DJs who not only listened to our requests but also read the room at every moment to create the perfect blend of music that could just fade into the background of the experience. And wow, what an experience it was. We can't recommend Jordan enough. Great guy, super talented DJ.

We can’t thank Ryan and the team at Mixing Maryland enough for their generous offer to donate their services for BARCS’ new gala event “Dog Wedding.” When we were connected with Mixing Maryland we thought “Oh, nice. Looks like they have a great reputation and will add class to our event,” but little did we know how much more than music this company would bring to our event. All night I continued to call Ryan our ‘Master of Ceremonies,’ as he kept the schedule on track, made announcements, dismissed tables for food and, on top of all that, picked the perfect playlist. Since our event was a fundraiser gala, disguised as a marriage of two dogs, we weren’t really sure if our guests would flood to the dancefloor like you would at a wedding with all your friends and family. Well, Ryan and his team did a great job surveying the room and creating the perfect playlist, because then the first song came on, the floor was packed. And, they kept that floor packed for the rest of the night. I’d also like to thank Mixing Maryland for going above and beyond to promote our event and even do a fundraiser on their own social media accounts to benefit the event. A huge, huge, huge thank you from all of us at BARCS for being an instrumental part of our Dog Wedding fundraiser. I can honestly say that I will be recommending Mixing Maryland to anyone looking to add music, dancing and crowd participation to their event.

Jordan was awesome! He is extremely experienced and it came through in our wedding! He read the crowd perfectly and got everyone dancing, even those that don’t normally dance. His website and process for making song recommendations prior to the wedding is seamless - with just a few recommendations from us as well as crowd sourced requests from our guests, Jordan created a playlist that was spot on from the cocktail hour through the reception. He helped make the day run smoothly and provided a lot of great advice leading up to the day. He was so proactive, fun and friendly with us during the wedding; we had guests asking if we knew him beforehand. We will be listening to the Spotify playlist he created for us for heart to come! Working with Maryland’s DJ was an absolutely amazing experience throughout the course of our wedding planning journey. From the minute that we first contacted them, Jordan and Mike were extremely professional, attentive, and best of all- FUN! Their online portal was a great tool, allowing us to quickly and easily plan everything from song lists to lighting schemes for our wedding ceremony and reception. During the course of the wedding evening, DJ Mike did a fantastic job of making announcements to keep the party flowing and playing songs that kept feet on the dance floor. We received many compliments regarding the mix of lighting and music that DJ Mike provided throughout the night, and they were absolutely correct. Our venue (Baltimore Museum of Art) included large rooms with high ceilings, but Mike did a fantastic job of lighting them and controlling the acoustics. We can’t say enough good things about Maryland’s DJ, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a great DJ in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area!

Jordan and the Maryland's DJ team delivered the dance party of the century! Our friends are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding a few weeks ago! Not only did Jordan know exactly what we wanted, what to play and when, and how to mix songs, but he did the music for our entire event - from pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour, all the way through the reception dance floor that lasted over 3 hours! After a few hours of dancing I started getting nervous that people were going to get worn out, but Jordan knew exactly what to do - he threw on a slow jam, which got people up to dance with their date, and then they were refreshed and stayed on the dance floor for the rest of the night! The entire experience with Jordan was amazing from start to finish. He asked a lot of questions, gave us a lot of information, and helped us curate an amazing party for our family and friends. Our only regret was that we can't do it every weekend - we even jokingly talked about annulling the marriage just so we would have to do it all over again. We decided that was too drastic, but we will definitely figure out an excuse to hire Jordan again... and you should too! You won't regret it :)
